Questions on the areas of application
What do we understand by inclusion?
Inclusion in organisations is a strategic and operational approach that aims to create a culture in which all employees, regardless of their individual characteristics, background, or life circumstances, can participate, contribute, and succeed on an equal footing. This includes consciously considering and appreciating all diversity criteria, be it origin, gender and gender identity, age, sexual orientation, physical, mental, and cognitive abilities, religion, socio-economic background, lifestyle, and family models, etc. The Inclusion-Check measures inclusion based on the four dimensions of the St. Gallen Inclusion Index: equal opportunities, diversity of perspectives, authenticity and belonging. You can find out more about the St. Gallen Inclusion Index under "Know-how".
In which languages is the Inclusion-Check available?
The Inclusion-Check administration environment is available in German, French and Italian. Survey participants can choose between German, French, Italian and English.
Which sector is the Inclusion-Check suitable for?
The Inclusion-Check is applicable to all sectors. Inclusion affects us all, and an inclusive (work) environment has a positive impact on employee satisfaction, health, and performance, regardless of industry.
Can I also use the Inclusion-Check for a foreign organization?
In principle, any organization can use the free Inclusion-Check, regardless of whether it is based in Switzerland or not. Until further notice, the Inclusion-Check PLUS is limited to the use of organizations in Switzerland.
Are the questions in the questionnaire also available in an Easy Read?
When developing the questionnaire, care was taken to use plain language. Plain language is generally understandable and avoids complicated words. However, the questions are not available in Easy Read. Easy Read is designed for people who have difficulty understanding and uses very clear words, simple sentences and often pictures.
Who can register for the Inclusion-Check?
In principle, anyone who wants to conduct a survey can register for the Inclusion-Check. A supervisor can register for the Inclusion-Check and create a survey for their organization. An employee can also register and conduct the survey with interested colleagues. However, it is recommended that the supervisor initiate the survey so that he or she can take action.
Can I also carry out the Inclusion-Check with an individual department or in a team?
Yes, the Inclusion-Check is suitable for surveys with 10 or more participants. However, if there are several interested departments, it is advisable to conduct a joint survey. This allows you to compare results, take action together, and learn from one another.
Questions on Setting Up a Survey
What is a Survey Group?
A Survey Group is an organizational unit that can be defined for the survey. Typically, Survey Groups correspond to departments or teams. Each group receives its own link to the questionnaire, so that the evaluation can later be performed separately for each group.
Do I have to create Survey Groups?
No, you do not need to create Survey Groups if you only want to report on one group. However, we recommend that you create individual Survey Groups at the beginning so that you have the option to report on the results per group later. Note: For very large survey groups, sending the link to many recipients at once can be problematic. We recommend a maximum group size of a few hundred participants.
Is there a minimum number of participants?
Yes, each question in the questionnaire requires at least 10 participants for evaluation. This ensures the anonymity of the participants. Note: Since rarely all invited persons participate, the planned groups should consist of more than 10 persons.
Are the "St. Gallen Inclusion Index", "Accessibility" and "Physical and Mental Requirements" the only question sets or are there others?
We call these "question sets" dimensions. The Inclusion-Check includes the dimensions listed above. Demographic information is also recorded. If you are interested in other dimensions (e.g., health index, workload, or work resources), you can find more information about the Incluscope at hmsag.ch/check/incluscope.
Can questions be rephrased or removed from the questionnaire?
No. The Inclusion-Check is a standardized survey. No questions can be deleted, added, or reformulated. If you would like to integrate further questions into your survey, you can find more information on Incluscope at hmsag.ch/check/incluscope.

As an organization, can I use the Inclusion-Check more than once?
